One of the things that impressed me most about Rotterdam was its ethnic diversity. I’m sure the large immigrant population is seen by some as a liability. But, it was truly moving for me to see children, university students, bureaucrats, transit workers, etc. of every ethnicity living their lives harmoniously side-by-side. My hope is that the City will recognize this as an asset and make it central to their vision and development strategy for the future. http://www.kosmopolis.nl/index.php?id=162
Some Wikipedia-facts: In the Netherlands, Rotterdam has the highest percentage of foreigners from non-industrialized nations.
