You don’t have to be in Rotterdam, Netherlands, for very long before you come to expect the unexpected around each corner. The City was completely leveled during WWII (I saw a photo today, and it looked like at most a half dozen buildings survived in the central core). The historic structure was abandoned in favor of creating a modern city. Today, it seems like almost anything goes in Rotterdam with regards to public art and architecture. I’d say, it is peculiar in an enchanting kind of way. And, it appears the City’s eclectic nature applies to the its inhabitants as well. It is quite a contrast coming from Munich.
